Our Cause

Health Programme

In line with Sustainable Development Goal 3 aimed at promoting good health and wellbeing, the Foundation will support free eye care services as part of its flagship and strategic initiative –“Vision for a Brighter Future”. Resources will be channelled into the provision of comprehensive eye care services; including cataract surgeries, improving and correcting refractive errors in underserved communities in high need states as well as screening, treating eye ailments in public schools and early detection of glaucoma, the silent killer.

Projects Supported

Through grantee partners, the Foundation empowers communities around the country to tackle issues that matter to them in order to deliver positive results and lasting impact. In the past, the Foundation’s funding also focused on providing skills for people living with disabilities and income generation for people at the grassroots.

Education Programme

The World Bank’s Education Global Group notes in their 2018 background paper to the World Development Report that many teachers in public schools in Sub-Saharan Africa lack the requisite skills to deliver quality learning grant program to the people. As a result, almost a quarter of primary school teachers cannot subtract double-digit numbers, and a third of the teachers cannot multiply double-digit numbers. Similarly, in secondary schools, only 464,216 out of the 584,160 teachers in both public and private institutions are qualified.

Challenging inequality

We believe in the inherent dignity of all people. Yet around the world, billions of people are excluded from full participation in the political, economic, and cultural systems that shape their lives.

We view this fundamental inequality as the defining challenge of our time, one that limits the potential of all people, everywhere. Addressing inequality is at the center of everything we do.

What we work on

To address and respond to these drivers, we work and make grants in nine interconnected areas that together, we believe, can help challenge inequality.

Civic Engagement and Government

Creativity and Free Expression

Disability Rights

Future of Work(ers)

Gender, Racial, and Ethnic Justice

Global Governance
